The FYS Philosophy

I want to let you know about the FYS business philosophy. FYS tries not work with small businesses on an hourly basis as it ultimately garners a conflict of interest. A computer company that charges by the hour does not make money unless you have a problem; therefore extra time is usually not spent to insure that such problems do not re-occur. It therefore also promotes the use of cheaper components in the course of repairs, as it looks like it’s saving you money short term and opens the door for future problems.

I have also seen on many an occasion service companies sending inexperienced techs to a site and then having them call outside technical support and then bill for the entire time the technician was on site…so you get to help train THEIR personnel on YOUR dime. While no one tech can know everything, this is a practice that FYS does not agree with and by having a yearly contract these situations are avoided.

A contract also helps you budget your computer expenses much more efficiently for the year. While parts are not covered, the cost of most computer components pales in comparison to the labor costs of a major network failure that can easily run into the thousands, not to mention the loss of productivity if you are unable to get a service company on site in a timely manner. A service contract guarantees a technician on site within 24 hours and within 4 hours in the event of a server outage.

An FYS service contract means that both of our companies can now work towards a common goal…limiting your day to day problems to an absolute minimum. The less time FYS spends at your company fixing your problems, the happier we both are. When FYS takes a service contract, the first 1~2 weeks are spent going over your system with a fine tooth comb to make it as stable as possible and since you don’t have to pay for however long it takes, this is only a benefit to you and you can concentrate on running your business.
